forest & garden animals wildbirds
Wild birds are welcome guests in gardens and around homes. Likewise, they appreciate a little help from people. If you regularly provide 5346 wild bird mixture feed for wild birds, you can expect visits from sparrows, blackbirds, thrushes, finches, robins, great tits, greenfinches, and many other bird species.
Nature does not always provide enough variety or food for these animals. Birds can benefit from extra support almost all year round: in early spring when many birds are raising their young, during hot summers, and especially throughout the winter months when it is difficult for them to find sufficient food.
Scatter feed is a responsible way to supplement the diet of wild birds. It can also be used to make your own fat balls (suet balls). However, be careful not to stop feeding too early. Only discontinue supplemental feeding when birds can genuinely find enough food on their own. They come to rely on us for support. Birds can survive only a short time without food and, particularly during winter, may not be able to find an alternative source quickly enough.
