goats
In their natural environment, goats roam across open land and feed on grasses, herbs, tree bark, and shrubs. Ruminating (chewing the cud) is an essential part of their digestion. Chewing stimulates saliva production. Together with structural roughage, saliva determines the functioning of the rumen and, consequently, the absorption of nutrients.
Goats differ from cattle: they use their feed more efficiently, and food passes through their digestive system more quickly. They also tend to eat the tastiest morsels first. Goats differ among themselves as well: dwarf goats use relatively more energy to keep themselves warm than other goats. High-producing dairy goats have different nutritional requirements from (dwarf) goats and kids kept at home, in parks, or as breeding and show animals.
For these latter groups, Garvo offers the ideal feed for a long and healthy goat life: 1020 alfamix goat. This is a tasty supplementary muesli mix that further stimulates rumen activity. It is fed alongside roughage such as hay or grass, with straw serving as a source of fiber. The combination of roughage and 1020 alfamix goat provides a complete diet for (dwarf) goats and goat kids. This feeding program promotes healthy animals with maximum resistance, lean muscular development, and strong hooves. The animals develop a well-balanced hormonal system, resulting in good fertility, trouble-free pregnancy, easy births, and effortless nursing periods.
For those who keep only dwarf goats, 5085 dwarf goat and buck pellets (3mm) are highly suitable. This feed is somewhat richer in energy, making it easier to meet their higher heat requirements. Thanks to the small pellet size, both young and adult dwarf goats can consume the feed easily. Finally, 5083 goat and buck pellets (5 mm) are a tasty supplement to grass, hay, or straw.
