GOATS (female and male) | one flavor, one bite!

Updated: 5083 Goat Pellets and 5085 Dwarf Goat Pellets – extra care for healthy kidneys.

At Garvo, we always strive to improve our animal feed so that it contributes to their health, vitality, and zest for life. That’s why we’ve updated the recipe for our goat pellets and dwarf goat pellets. With this adjustment, the feed is now even better tailored to the specific needs of both female and male goats.

Why this update?

Male goats have an increased risk of kidney stones. This can occur when the calcium-phosphorus ratio in the feed is unbalanced. To help prevent this, it’s important to maintain a 3:1 ratio—three times as much calcium as phosphorus. We’ve increased the calcium content by adding calcium chloride and adjusted the calcium-phosphorus ratio to the desired 3:1. This makes our pellets and pellets suitable for both female and male goats. One flavor, one pellet!

The role of calcium chloride:

Calcium chloride reduces the ratio and amount of certain salts (minerals) in the body (lowering the electrolyte balance) and acidifies the urine. This slows down the crystallization of minerals, resulting in fewer kidney stone problems. More acidic urine is therefore beneficial for the health of goats and helps prevent urinary tract problems.

Healthy goats are more than just pellets or pellets: additional tips!

A well-balanced diet is the foundation, but with a few additional measures, you can further support your animals’ health:
Offer a salt lick – this encourages water intake, effectively flushing the bladder and kidneys.
Provide plenty of textured roughage – this supports digestion and keeps them occupied.
Always provide fresh drinking water – prevents dehydration and helps flush out waste products.
