European indigenous birds, also known as wild song birds, are popular. There are many species, think of goldfinches, bullfinches, siskins, greenfinches, yellow-hammers, crossbills, linnets, thrushes, blackbirds and sparrows. Hereby is the long list of interesting wild song birds not nearly complete! If these birds live in cages or aviaries, then they get other feed than wild birds. give fresh birdseed daily
give unlimited grit and sharp stomach gravel; sprinkle this on the floor of the aviary or put it in a separate bowl
make sure there’s cuttlefish for the extra minerals (among which calcium). That is good for the eggs. Furthermore, the birds can sharpen their beaks on the cuttlefish
supplement now and then with some fruit, foxtail millet, germinated seeds or vegetables (no avocado)
during the breeding and moulting seasons give extra fats and proteins with egg food
always make sure there´s enough fresh drinking water
